Good evening,everyone!And here i am,finally.
After a year and a half of lurking,i decided to officially join in.
I've been playing the piano for a few years now,and then the sound of the violin captured me...after much contemplating,i took up lessons in April 2012 and am really glad i did so.Pierre's videos and this forum have really helped me understand many things and become more confident in my playing.So,thank you,you community of fiddlers,you!
My first violin was a cheap chinese electric one-i still have right here on my bed as i type.It served its purpose dutifully and still holds a special place in my heart,but by now it was time to move on to the real deal..and today i got my proper,lovely,lovely sounding new acoustic violin.Needless to say i am over the moon.I look forward to continuing fiddling alongside everyone here!

Hi and welcome Teapot! I'm looking forward to see and hear more from you. I know how it feels to be captured by the sound of the violin. This forum is great, but I bet you know that already after all that lurking:)
I hope you will post a video so we can hear you play on your new violin

Thank you all for the warm welcome!I'm getting a soundpost adjustment and new strings in the next weel or so,and then in June it's recital time in my music school...so you'll probably marvel at my violin scratching sometime soon:)
