Hello,

My name is Cecily and I'm from Michigan and I go to school in the U.P so half my time is spent there. I've been playing the violin for 3 and a half months as of now and just trying to learn my way around this forum.

Welcome @stirlingite771 ! Yup - the amount of information here is awesome - it can take a lot of time to get familiar with it all !

One of the best things you can do is to engage (at any level) with other posts on the forum -- that way you'll not only get to better-know some of our members, but you'll also start to feel "easier" about getting involved. Remember this - there is no such thing as a stupid question - so if as a beginner you have anything to ask about - never hesitate to post your question !

Hello there, and welcome.

Looks like you started playing the violin not too long after I started playing it again (as a beginner, again).

I am nearing my 5th month back to playing the violin. I went from no violins to three violins in short order... and plan for one more... and maybe a junker to work on too.

The worst part of having three violins is that, like today, I wanted to play all three of them, for compare and contrast. The playing part isn't bad, it is the cleanup afterwards that is time consuming. I make sure to clean the strings and wipe down the violins after each use. They stay nice and clean that way.

Well, off to relax for a bit.
