I put new strings on my violin last night and was tuning it then my bridge snapped in half. I took my violin to Showtime Music today to get a new bridge cut, I'll be getting it back around Tuesday. I was so mad at myself. At least my violin will sound better when I get it back.
I told this to my friend today and he said he has been in the mood to play lately himself, but sadly he had a snapped E string and no Bow. I offered to give him my old bow. He said he would check back back on my offer later. I also told him about the project that is coming up and he thought it was interesting.

I was hoping to get my violin back today so I can get back to practicing "He's a Pirate" Violin 5. And record myself playing "Happy Birthday" for my Mother-law and Father-in-law within the next 8-9 days.
I called Showtime Music today and they said mine is behind two others. I had the feeling that is would be ready Wednesday. Its going to cost me around $50 to get a new "G" string, new bridge and get it cut. Usually they charge $60 to get a new bridge and to cut it. They tried to give me a Viola bridge and then they couldn't tell if my violin was full size. I don't feel very confident with this music store and its a hour away at the mall. Next time I'll go to a music store closer to me even tho I never been to it. Several years ago I use to go to Woody's music in my town but the owner passed away.
Edit: Got my violin back and it sounds better and no bowing two strings at a time when I don't want to.
