Hi, my name's Hex. I'm new to the site & new to violins.
I just recently bought a used violin (I can't afford a brand new one yet) at a store called Bookmans. It has some problems with the pegs coming loose but I was able to fix it & tune it just fine. It's a 4/4 black violin, it came with its case & bow but they didn't give me any rosin, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get some right now as money is tight.
I bought the violin now only because I want to learn to play, but it is a stress reliever for me as I enjoy trying to figure out how to play and how to work the bow itself (like with tuning)
I'm hoping to make some friends on the site & learn how to play the violin well enough that I can maybe make recordings on YouTube.
My favorite violin artist are Taylor Davis & Lindsey Sterling. I want to play in a style like theirs, as I'm a fan of the pop-like sound they produce.
I am a college student & expecting my first baby.

Welcome, @Hex !
We talked on the chat - good to see you. Never hesitate to ask questions here - we all started out much the same - there really is no "snobbery" here - and questions that may sound basic or silly to you are NOT ! Ask away !
There are also a whole heap of beginners pieces and walk-throughs under the "Sheet Music" tab.
Enjoy what will be a lifetime's journey with the violin !
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
