Hello I'm doug. former lurker. Had some questions on a new electric on it's way  to me that I posted in the setup and repair section. beginning again after not playing for 23 years. played elementary and not since. I think partly because I was forced to play right handed. I have no intentions on playing in an orchestra, so I'll play my way.

Single dad so i'm re-beginning on the fairly cheap so I bought the typical cecilio (or whatever the name is) student acoustic set, and also an Yinfente electric so I can play at night when everyone is sleeping (my only real practise time). It was lefty and very pretty so I got carried away.

Glad to have you here. We'll do what we can to answer all your questions and hopefully motivate you as well.

Relearning to play the violin is usually, from my understanding, much more rewarding than the original event which is not always one of absolute choice. :)

Look forward to a progress report :)

Welcome.  I am an only parent oftentimes having only after bedtime to practice as well.  You'll be surprised that your kids can sleep through practice.  Here a while back my daughter asked me if I could play so that she could go to sleep.  That was a huge compliment to me.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
