Howdy from Texas! I'm Cajun, I've been playing for just over a year now (Oct '22) on the calendar but due to some IRL issues* I lost several months over the summer with little to no practice.
Current studies are Suzuki Book 1, The Burl Ives Song Book, and the odd song here and there that seems interesting and doable for my skill level.
My violin is actually a Tower Strings Midnight Edition that I purchased April '23 from here on Fiddlerman! I know Buddhists aren't supposed to have attachments buuuut I think I protect it from bumps and bruises more than my own kids (though granted I have yet to see a violin grow legs and walk into a door on its own lol).
Thanks for having me and I hope to learn a lot from y'all!

Welcome Cajun!
It sounds like you are enjoying the journey, and I can really relate to something you said in another post, on enjoying how much there is to learn.
I noticed that myself the other week. I recently started taking lessons and my teacher pushed me ahead (to what is within my grasp) but I found I was having to focus and concentrate so hard on what I was doing that I started drooling on myself.
I've found myself doing that a few times and laugh every time.
