Hi! I got an email regarding the Christmas 2023 project and found this forum. I'm so glad that I did! As to my background, I played many years ago in High School, bass and a little cello at the time, then started almost a year ago playing again, strictly cello. I have great teacher I meet with once-a-week online. I'm still very much a newbie (apparently Tyro also means 'newbie', hence the name) but doing well I think. My teacher said if I'd been able to play through middle and high school I likely could've gone professional, so that compliment I'll hold dear for forever

Have you been learning anything by ear?
I started MUCH later - playing a 5-string Violin & 5-string Viola, so I'm always interested in music & techniques played on cello, too! I try to include great info for cello players when I run across it, so you'll find things I've scattered throughout the forum.
