Hey everybody,
I'm Tim and completely new to the whole violin arena. I've thought about learning the fiddle for years but I have so many hobbies it was hard to find time when I would practice. Well, now that I'm in school full-time the only hobbies I still have are the ones that don't cost anything!
That being said it seemed like a great time to learn the violin! I'm so pumped up I cant wait to order my FM concert violin! 
Everyone on here seems really supportive and this looks like an awesome community to be apart of. The only thing I'm disappointed with is not being able to play in the Addam's Family group project this Fall. I loved that show plus it sounds like alot of fun to play. Our first lab we had as kids was even called Lurch! Im really trying to get my violin before the deadline, maybe I'll submit a clip of teeth grinding screeching to simulate a creaky door lol.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and get my feet wet, so stop by and say hi!

Hi Tim! Welcome! I'm new as well, have had my FM concert violin for almost 13 days, and playing for just as long, lol, and love it. It's a beautiful violin, I'm sure you'll be happy with it

Thank you! After reading all the positive reviews from everyone, I'm sure I will love it. I've found so many pieces I'd like to play once I progress to them. I bet that has been a fun 13 days so far, keep it up!

Welcome to the forum... I think you should be able to play the new project. There are usually all levels. If you need help many here are around to support.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, hopefully I'll be able to get one before the deadline. I haven't read music since middle school so I have been brushing up on that along with listening to different recordings.
Im getting really anxious to get my violin though lol

You can do that for sure. Also, do the snaps, and I'll definitely use your submission.

Hi Tim,
Welcome from another newbee to the forum though I lurked for quite a while. You will definitely find lots of help from the folks here. And great idea with regards to the creaking door - and the snaps for the Addam's Family project!!!
