Hi, my name is Kiran and I go by the name of penguin on forums such as this.
I have been playing the violin for around 6 years and am technically at a grade 6 standard of playing, however I'm not a fan of the whole grading system. I'm no longer having violin lessons so stumbled across fiddlerman; who has done a brilliant job in rekindling my old passion. From a background of only playing classical pieces I have been inspired to learn some rock and am also keen on learning to play jazz on the violin!
That's enough about me, please tell me about you I look forward to chatting with many people who all have a passion or enthusiasm to play music in general.

nice to meet you, Im the Picklefish (my favorite hangout bar when I lived in Mobile, Al) My name is Rob. I am almost through the first Suzuki book, the first Mark Oconnor and Brian Wicklunds books. Have yet to find a real teacher that can teach me. I have been learning classical, fiddlin (all types), theres not a better group to interact with than those on the FM site. Post a progress vid right away. -fiddle on.

Hiya Penguin, you'll find a whole lot of people from around the world on here, and we're all nuts for learning the violin, and a good bunch for encouraging others.
Oh yeah, we're all a bit nuts in general, not just over the violin, but you won't find a nicer group of people anywhere else on the t'interweb!
Enjoy and reciprocate!
And if you mention how well GB are doing in the London Olympics you will be a favourite of mine
I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

Thank you all for your warm welcomes!
Had no intention of creating a progress vid Rob but i'll definately think about it.
Terry I have no idea how i managed to leave the olympics out of my intro speech! I'll have to post something about it on the forums at some point, look out for it.
Hey Naska, thanks for the welcome and i'll work on the vids xD
We did meet in the shout box and i did manage to stumble across the forums and introduce myself eventually!
