Looking for a violin made by my grandfather that was stolen from my house. Label reads "Ladislaus Baczynski fecit Leopoli 15/5, 25, Op.254". Any information leading to its recovery greatly appreciated.

Interesting post thalassa,
A while back there was a lady, don't remember from where, that had her instrument stolen as well. She made a post and posted it (or someone else did for her) and it kind of went viral. Word has it that she recouped her violin 
One of our members here "Barry" posted the link here on "Fiddle Talk" as well.

http://www.sappviolins.com/vio.....ins.html lists a violin in stock by that maker and from that year. It is in the "Other Violins" section.

I'm sure your grandfather probably made more than one violin that year, but it being the same year and being listed as a new arrival... Well, it might be worth giving them a call or whatever, in the spirit of "leave no stone unturned".
