Hi guys, im a newbie on the violin as you read lol. I got started by winning a bid on ebay . I saw it and thought there was no way I would win the thing, it was said it was handmaid, hand inlaid perflins, and antiqued. 30 dollars was the price lol, so I bid and won. I found out after I got it that it is actually a handmade violin with hand-inlaid perflins, but a pearwood fingerboard. It sounds good,(to Me and family), and had a petina over the thing, parafin it turned out to be. After cleaning it off, it sounds great. Sorry to be long winded but it was in March when I got it and I started my violin "career" lol then. I dont post often and dont log very often to this site but I have sent FM a couple of notes on the wrong forum......sorry for that lol, but I hope to be a good learner from you guys and thanks

Welcome Jerry!
As you might already know, there is a lot of great information on fiddlerman's website. The members here are a great source of information and inspiration.
From your post it sounds like you should be careful what you wish for!
Hope you enjoy your journey with learning the violin like the rest of us.
