Hello Y'all. I'm not a brand new member. Looks like I made about 8 posts in 2011. Don't know if I've got a Bio somewhere or not. I like playing blues, I try to play a bit of Jazz, and I'm also very much into playing the Modes.

What kind(s) of styles are mostly discussed in this forum?

I just made a post in "jazz & blues", interested to see what kind of feed back I get on it. It looks like there is a lot going on here, and the forum format has changed a fair bit since I was here last. I've been off-line for quite a while

Welcome back, @bluesviolin ! I'd be interested in hearing what the forum was like in the early days. I joined in March of 2012, a bit after you were first here.

Pretty much all musical styles are discussed here. There are people interested in classical violin music and folks interested in traditional fiddling, and everything in between.

Looking forward to reading your posts about the blues.

Thank You very much for the warm welcomes! Yes, I think I'll spend more time on this site.

Unfortunaetly, I'm not able to post any of my playing, for a couple of reasons. I don't have the technology to record (can't afford it) and my computer skills are very limited so I wouldn't even know how to get it from the recording device on to the site.

Also, around May 2012 I came down with a disease called Polymyalgia Rhuematica. It was severe inflammation and pain in hips, shoulders, arms, hands. I couldn't even lift a fiddle to my soulder, let alone play one for about 8 months. Fortunately, after a few months, it went into remission with the help of Prednisone. Unfortunately, somehow it left me with a nerve/anxiety/sleep disorder. But I'm stable with meds for that and on full time disability.... so recording and posting would be too much for me.

I'm allowed to make a certain amount of extra money, so in spring, summer and Fall, I busk in the Light Rail Transit Stations here. Sooner or later, I'll post a list of my busking tunes, just for fun.
