Hi !  This site is the bomb !  Anyways, I was very impressed to see the "house of the rising sun" project going on- too bad the only thing I can play is "Happy Birthday" (well, you would recognize it) LOL.  I would like a years notice before the next one please.  :)

I played viola, taught myself cello, and base when I was a kid.  I moved to Belize a couple years ago and thought it would be a hoot to learn to play the violin (I'm older now, but it is a hoot !) Finally got one to lay with ! :)   So far this site has helped a whole bunch !

BTW-  we don't speak spanish here

(LOL- the math is killing me !!  and, uh........ having to use firefox  :/ )

I swear- someday I will be playing as well as my imagination

Welcome @Leana - you've come to the right place !   And the math will stop after, as I recall, 50 posts....    You may not have to wait a year for the next one, there is usually a Xmas project as well - usually "easier" for us beginners - so keep your eyes out for that (and check the Xmas tunes somewhere on the site - hang on I'll find 'em - https://fiddlerman.com/studies.....mas-music/   - that's not to say this year's choice would be any of those, but they are nice to practice on....

WELCOME !!!

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

LOL,
The math will be great exercise for your brain. I believe it's after 99 posts. :(
Be prepared, there will be a new project in a year and we expect you to participate. The "Fiddlerman Group Twinkle Project".
Very happy to have you here. Look forward to reading many more posts from you.

wow !  what a lovely greeting !   :)  (Thanks, all!)

I can''t wait for the 100 post thing  LOL and what I meant by years notice was- I would need a year to practice what ever the song is (hopefully that actually isn't true)

BUT !!!!  I wasn't going to share this video (yes- I know there is a spot for videos)- but check this out !  I am totally freaking out right now because I am RIGHT handed- I always hold the bow in my right hand.  This might be a video trick or something- and seriously it is totally freaking me out ! (never mind that for some reason the sound isn't quite matching up)

practice, practice, practice !

I know I haven't actually said this yet, and I don't know if anyone is listening to me right this moment, but I am a massage therapist--  I have been listening to violin appropriate music for years, and right now I am realizing how valuable- outside of massage- this music actually is !!  I still have a problem with appropriate time to practice,…. but-- now I am listening with a brand new ear, and after 18 years, that is insanely beautiful !!

Sounds good. You play classical music when you treat patients? I imagine you know which music seems to relax people the most.
How much time do you find to practice on average per day?

I will answer the easy question first-  because I tend to get lazy, and occupied with "things,"-  I don't practice every day.  I was trying to make myself do at least half hour, but I actually mostly do more- when I do.  Been lazy today, and nothing happened.

Anyways, yes- classical, and other music- I just go for unusual.  My clients almost always stay awake during treatment. LOL- I make sure of it.

The target series of massage music is the bomb (if they still have it)- that is where the Lifescapes, healing music came from- one of my favs- and an endless source of inspiration. Dean Magraw and his cronies are incredible !!!   :))
