70 YO retired college professor, 63 years guitar, 53 years clawhammer banjo, novice on fiddle, looking for a fiddler near Grand Blanc MI to play informally with. I am mostly interested in the early pre-bluegrass music that is associate with the rural Appalachians in the 1920s: fiddle tunes, murder ballads, party songs, country blues, fiddle rags. I see that a member here, fiddlestix (Ken Johnson), lives only about 15 miles from me. After being very active for several years he has not posted since January. One of the latest posts I found he said he was having shoulder pain and was not playing very much. If anyone who sees this knows how to contact Ken outside the group, please point him to a PM that I have sent him. I even include some suggestions there for avoiding shoulder pain while playing.

Welcome @oldtimebanjo
Yes, I know Ken from the forum ( but don;t have any other contact details ) - and yes - I miss his interesting and insightful posts. Hope you can get in touch - oh yes - I've just checked - I won't repost it here - but he does have an email address in his profile - but I guess you might have been aware of that already....
Anyway - welcome to the forum !
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
