I have to admit that I'm a tad nervous about this, and no good at introductions. Here goes nothing!
I've been nosing around here for a few months now and finally decided to join in on the fun.
I'm new to the violin. After playing the alto and tenor sax for years with a little guitar on the side, I decided to pick up the violin on a whim over the summer. I began lessons in July, and this has been one of the most musically rewarding experiences I've had in my short life. This thing is freaking FUN!!!
I'll be giving up my lessons at the beginning of the year to accommodate my three year old daughter who has asked Santa for a violin for Christmas (This gesture makes my heart sing). Luckily, the college student who has been teaching me agreed to take her on.
Violin aside - I'm the mother of the most beautiful girl you've ever seen (she's pretty smart, too), a nurse, and a good ol' country girl.
Side note: I'm from Arkansas - born and raised - so don't let my drawl get to you.

Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all!
Robyn - I don't think would be too upset if she showed me up. I am a pretty sore loser, though. All the reason to practice even more! I do have a head start!
Fiddlerman - I don't know about the whole performing thing yet. I'm just in it for the fun of learning. It's kind of funny you brought that up. I'm currently fighting my teacher to not have to do the Christmas recital he's putting together. (I have terrible stage fright.)
By the way, what's with this math thing when you post something? I feel like I have to whip out my calculator to double check myself every time. Arkansans are no good at math! Or I'm not, anyway.
