Hi, i'm a mom of a special 12 year old player and recently found this site. Little Sonic has been playing for 3 1/2 years through school orchestra and is moving up to a full size violin. It's been quite the whirlwind of learning and investigating information on violins to make good choices for a purchase. And I must give huge props to everyone at the Fiddlershop for their help and guidance.
At this point all I can really do is pull the bow across the strings to help tune his violin (which he doesn't need anymore) but since I'm in charge of the purchasing department, I guess it's time for mom to become more educated.
I'm here to read, learn, and occasionally ask the newbiest of newb questions.
Question number one.....Is there a cool 'Violin Parent' badge?? :p

@Sonic
Welcome welcome. You are not the first violin parent here.. yahoo!!! Ge have come to know a lot of the moms, dad, grandparents that get involved with their "wee persons" violin activities.... congrats on joining and I hope that you end up being a player as well.
The site is great and we have a lot of friendly players here.
Many thumbs up for joining and being involved.
So very very nice to meet you.

Than you everyone for the warm welcome.
Little Sonic is playing well on his new girl that arrived this week and we both are really enjoying her quality sound and deeper darker voice. She sounds lovely!
Even though I don't play (yet) I enjoy watching the tutorials and seeing the fun projects here. And I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and maybe learning to play myself.
