Hi!  My wife was a violin player.  Trying to learn a bit, while prepping to buy her an electric, for our anniversary.  Personally, I play Bass, by ear (We don't need no stinkin' sheet-music!...  LOL), reverse-strung (Yeah, I know it's weird...).

Part of the tech stuff is learning the differences in the pickup systems, wiring and such, which is what I'm trying to learn...  Sometime this Winter, I hope to be winding a couple of pickups for my Bass and doing some custom switching on split-coils.  In addition, I expect to try my hand at the stringamp design, as I understand it...

Hello Raven1962, and welcome to the party!  It's good to have an assortment of musicians and minds on the team.  Perhaps there are others who might have questions regarding bass or whatever.  There's a bunch of people here whom I'm sure can help you out, or vice versa!
