Hello!

My name is Daniel Scherl and Max Scherl, the co-founder of Scherl & Roth, was my Grandfather!  I'm writing because my family has been doing some genealogy research and I was wondering if anyone here had any information about the Scherl & Roth history more than we've been able to gather on our own.

If you have any info, please let me know and hope you all keep on fiddlin'!

Respectfully,
Daniel Scherl

I don't know anything more than what you would find on the internet. I Googled it, but the info came from a competitor's website, competitor of Fiddlershop, so I cannot provide the link. Since it is off the web, you probably found it upon googling, already.

You might find info on it in a genealogy site by checking on the family name. Not sure, never used a genealogy site, but know people who have.

The site I found the info on sells the same variety of levels of instruments as Fiddlershop, and is online and brick and mortar, just like Fiddlershop, so they are a competitor. Therefore, I cannot provide the link. Just google Sherl & Roth Violins and you will most likely find that link, and others. Most were just selling the instruments, and family information or company history.

You might want to check out a library and look for books with histories of some former violin makers. You might at least get some leads.

Good luck. It is hard to find information on most violin makers, or cello, etc. Been there, tried that a few times. I wish you luck.

We have no idea what you already know, but I would assume anything off the web, you know. Maybe contact violin shops that sell that brand? They may know, or have a lead.

Again, good luck.
