WOW, Thanks FM. I hate to be a bother but I certainly appreciate what you've done for me.

After listening to them, I have to say that they sound just as bad as I remember... LOL

Being able to play them almost at the same time allows you to hear the difference the new soundpost and bridge made. I can hardly wait to hear it with some good strings.

Anytime cdennyb,

I'm only sorry that it is not easier for you all.
Good new strings will probably make a huge difference. Good luck with that.

Si853558comp.jpgImage EnlargerOK, Call me stupid... I was out of town on Sat (up in Reno, Nv on business) and never stopped to check my mail at the post office so guess what I found in my mailbox this morning? Give up...?

These.

WOW, that was fast Fiddlerman... I expected these to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday and now I have something to play with on my day off.

OK, lets try to upload those (2) mp3 files of the steel strings played open and the newest Zyex strings played open. The new ones are still stretching a little and I've readjusted them at least a 1/2 dozen times, taking up the slack ever so slowly with the fine tuners so as not to over do it and cause a problem later on down the road.

I've run out of adjustment with the FT at least 3 times now and had to slack them off and take up the tune with the pegs. They're finally settling down now so it shouldn't be long before i can get up on them harder and have them hold their tension.

I think they "feel" better, meaning I can feel the vibration thru tot he back more so than I could with the steel core strings. The tone projects better and with a little more rosin on them they seem to hold the note better. Just my beginners opinion.

Might need your help FM on this upload... it's a problem for me...for some reason.

Chinese "D" anemic.  Chinese "E" sick (and maybe out of tune)

Zyex "D" oustanding.  Zyex "E" doing better.  "A" has more color.

OK, I have to ask. How did you listen to them? All I see is two big empty boxes with nothing in there.

Oh, I used a digital frequency tuner so in both instances, the strings were within a couply of 'cents' of being perfect in Hz.

Post shows 2 standard Quick Time bars (?)

That is usually easily handled on FM.

Could the tuning? be influenced by playing pressure on the steel strings?

I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

mp3s don't work on internet explorer unless you run windows 7 or you can download safari but then the shoutbox doesn't work with safari.

@Kevin

That's just great! I can't upload with Opera Browser (but I can see them and play them back easily) and I can't listen or see them with Explorer Browser (but I can upload them without issue). LOL

Guess I'll just have to stay logged in using both browsers. This should be interesting... I bet Bill Gates had something to do with this.facepalm

Thanks, you can always thank me by writing a review about how fast they arrived.

Your links work great for me too. It's probably either your quicktime player is not installed or you need to use a different bowser. Congratulations on posting them perfectly.

By the way, I can't believe how audible the difference is. Usually would not have expected to hear a difference on open strings. Much nicer with the Zyez. thumbs-up

I'm running Internet Explorer 8 and the MP3's worked fine for me and I don't have Safari or whatever it's called. I'm only running Window's XP, PRO.
