Hi Everyone
I have always had an interest in stringed Instruments and own Guitars Acoustic and Electric, i also have a couple of Resonator 5 string Banjo's which is my newest passion. I haven't got my Violin yet but should have one in the next week or so, my friends say i am crazy and too thick to learn a classical instrument so learning the Violin will shut them up as well. I will need a lot of help in the coming weeks and plenty of advice. The Violin i have in mind is a Windsor style one but other than that i am lost. A friend online asked me what Rosin is for so just said the Bow and he laughed saying i will never learn. I am from Leeds which is in Yorkshire in the UK and look forward to getting to know some of you and also learning a lot from you. Sorry my 1st post is a bit long winded and thanks for reading.

Hello, I am from Saint Helens believe it or not. So if you need advice dont ask, lol, seriously anything people on here can help with we will, ask any question no matter how stupid you think it is, we are all learning, though there are some very good players on here, Most people on here ncluding me play lots of different instruments, violin is a different beast though.

Thanks for the Welcome guys. I think i should fit in ok as you all seem friendly enough. I have been on youtube watching beginner Violin Video's and they make it look so easy. I am Agoraphobic so need things to occupy my mind and am also learning 5 String Banjo which goes hand in hand for Bluegrass music. Looking forwards to learning with all your help. The Banjo i am getting is on Ebay and still in the bidding stage till Wednesday but i have put in quite a high bid as not to lose it. Will any Violin do for a Beginner or do i need something more expensive. Saying that it could be expensive and be utter crap. I just need advice on what to avoid. Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of people here who can assist you on your way. Enjoy the journey as the dang thing can become pretty frustrating.
A few years ago my family took a vacation to Europe. We started by flying into Manchester, rented a car, drove to Stratford, then to Ilford where our hotel was. Spent the next few days enjoying London. Beautiful country. Was a highlight vacation for sure.
