I think it would be nice to see some YouTube links as well to those favorite Irish fiddlers and performances. I've always loved Irish music and fiddling.

OK, you have to include Mairead Nesbitt from Celtic Woman and Cora Scott from Riverdance. Look up the You Tube video Dueling Violins, this features both of them and it is great.

This is the song I'm currently trying to play. Its one of my favorite songs and one of the reasons I wanted to start playing violin. Jed Mugsford from the Oxford Fiddle Group is one of my favorite fiddlers.
Here is a link to the sheet music for the song,(and ABC) if anyone wants to try it. I would probably classify it as a beginner level song. It uses the first position on all 4 strings and is slow.
On "Cheap eBay violins" … Just tell people they are like a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. With a little love, and some practice, they too can be made beautiful.
