I used to love listening to Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship... guess I wasn't a big enough fan to know Papa John Creach had become a member & played Violin with them!  Starting with Classical training and some symphonic work, he learned many genres after moving to Chicago - Jazz, R & B, Pop, trad German & Polish... easy to see he could Rock, too!  I think the Jazz and R & B were most important to him - he did many solo recordings... performed up to his death at 76 years old (1994).
