I wanted to try Amazing Grace with double stops and while trying to play it third position just finally became clear to me.  It makes playing this so much easier than crossing over.  I don't know how long it will take for me to learn to play two strings at once after trying so hard not to play two at once. I'll just keep trying.

Exactly Kevin. And it doesn't matter how long really.... remember that it is all about enjoying the journey. smile

Well I'm back to practicing again after a long delay.

On Amazing Grace measure 11 would I just play the G down bow and then continue with the D and the B hoping that the G will keep going?  I tried it but I find myself playing the G too hard. How do you play this?

yep, you just have to take it slow and methodically. Practicing the doublestops will make your brain accept that its ok. try adding a few drones in here and there till you get used to it and then ramp it up to where you want it. Im struggling with it too.
