I have been very busy lately and haven't gotten much sleep. Tonight I was sitting practicing after dinner and I paused to rest, violin in hand and dozed off. I was awakened by a "klunk" and startled I realized the "klunk" was the violin falling from my hands to the floor. I was scared. I picked it up and carefully checked it for damage. No cracks, nothing broken, sound post still solid and in place, everything looking good, no dents or gouges or anything. Only thing the "klunk" did was knock it out of tune. As soon as I retuned it was back to normal. But next time I may not be so lucky.

Just a reminder. If you are sleepy put the violin away and lie down and sleep. Otherwise you may awaken to a very unpleasant surprise. I was lucky this time.

Yes, it would have made a good video of me falling asleep sleep and "crash" violin goes to the floor... OUCH !!! smile

From now on I am going to be more careful. last I need is to have to send it for repairs.
