I've been struggling with some notes in 'Canon'(d, c#, d, on A string followed by open D, c# 3rd finger on G, then 4th finger on A) and been struggling like crazy coz the c# gets in the way of the 4th finger )

And if someone give a tip on technique, that would be great.

ps. great new smileys!!united_kingdom-4178

have you tried playing the c sharp as a d flat with the fourth finger instead? would that work? You play the d with the pinky lift and move it back a bit. Thats the only way I can see it working without playing that d open. Im interested in what the solution becomes.us-4240

Hmm, worth a try, my pinky still isn't brilliant, but I'll try shifting it from G to D string.
I've been experimenting with doing a shift to 3rd position for the C# but those Semiquavers are fast even at the speed that we are using.

You can put down the 3rd and 4th finger together. Use the inside corners of those two fingers if your fingers are too fat. Using the fourth finger will cause another problem of having to slide it up for the next note. Could be done but I prefer the fingering that you have marked there Terry.
