To keep in synch with the sheet I started on Sunday. I have set up a deliberate practice regime that consists of 2-5 minutes Left hand (fingering) exercises, 5-10 minutes of Right hand (bowing) exercises, 5-10 minutes of scales, 10 minutes of a new song and what ever energy and time I have left for old songs, including my two benchmark songs. Good thing here is I have been practicing longer than the 30 minute suggestion on the sheet. I love motivation and the encouragement form the group here. I so strongly desire to be a better violist/fiddler if for anything the neighbors when I play at the campfire up at the mountain cabin. The video idea I've seen here is a great idea to help myself see my own improvement as I know I'm my own worst critic.

Actually I think your guys 35 day idea is more managable. Great way to log practice and see just how much you are really investing. Ive missed days in my 100 day challenge, we are currently on day 68 and I know Ive lost people, should of did a 30 day deal
AS one of FV's "lost people", Life happens, as do slippery roof tops with ice beneath, ouch..
I am now officially on day 8 of the 35 day challenge, and see no problem at least as of right now to repeat this endlessly (I just gotta stay off icy roof tops, lol). I am practicing with purpose and realize I really need at least an hour a day to really get through all my exercise (which I previously ignored) and finish my daily goals. I am learning a new tune or two (Misty Mountain Morn, and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring) which are not the easiest pieces for me. When I finish my daily program, I play, just because I find so much joy in it. I work daily on my two bench mark tunes and will repost a video at the end of the first 35 day section.

I've made through day 30. I will most definitely practice a great deal this weekend as well, bringing me to 32 days. I'm coming up on my three-year mark in a few months. The first two years, I hardly touched my violin during the winter months. So for me to play/practice every day during January is a huge accomplishment. Hoping I can keep it up!
Let the bow flow.

I have to check my sheet. I thought I had another week to go? Not sure. I didn't fail. I missed a few days and some days I had double or triple. I will total up my hours and begin again. I will fill in the rest of my 100 day challenge from another group.
Practice rocks.. it's all good.

I've just ticked off Day 11 and all is going well. I can even notice an improvement. Intonation is improving and I'm happier with my bowing. The problem comes when I try to put the two together - I usually concentrate on intonation but then the bowing suffers. I guess I need more practice to make the bowing more automatic. Lucky I have another 24 days to go!

Well sometimes its not all good. I was ready this morning to "fix" my violin with a chain saw. Kept getting a false note on the a string...and Ive been working on bowing a lot. Had to stop and work out on the drums for a while and then work on the heavy bag downstairs. Glad my wife wasn't here.

@mryikes oh dear... I am glad wife wasn't home !! ha ha
After all she brings you such nice treats. Well ... truth be told I have had some practice sessions that start going like that. .. I don' t have a chainsaw.. (note to self.. get chainsaw and punching bag). LOL... I usually just play something really nice and easy.. to end on a good note... ha ha

I haven't missed a day but some practices have been only 15 minutes. Does 3 hours of Jam every Tuesday count for anything?
Violinist start date - May 2013
Fiddler start date - May 2014
FIDDLE- Gift from a dear friend. A 1930-40 german copy, of a french copy of a Stradivarius. BOW - $50 carbon fiber. Strings - Dominants with E Pirastro Gold string.

Well, I did it. I practiced/played 35 days in a row! Some days were only for 15 minutes or so, but some were a few hours. I used all of those days to work on shifting and 3rd and 5th positions. I've also been focusing on improvising, accompanying my boyfriend on guitar. I'm trying to rely less on reading/memorizing tunes and just sort of going with the flow. I'm glad I took this 35-day challenge. It's definitely paying off! I'm going to see just how far I can take it before the streak ends.
Let the bow flow.
