The sheet music for this is here:

If somebody could show me how to post the image of just this one piece, I'll do it.
This is a tough piece and I intend to use it as an exercise for vibrato and shifting. I've started with the long runs after measure 63 and have managed to sort out the shifts and positions for that.
But the rest of the fingering has me completely confused. I have managed to sort out all the fingering for Kreutzer #2, so I'm not completely new to the fingerboard beyond the open strings.
If somebody could tell me where my fingers go for the first twelve measures, I think I could figure the rest out. There are fingering clues added. For example the first note, measure one, is middle A, played with the second finger which I assume is played on the D string. But the next note is (high?) E fingered with the fourth finger. It can't be on the A string, or it would be right next to A on the D string. The only other E is way up on the same D string followed by E again an octave lower ... on the same D string?
Somebody explain, please.

Starts out on 3. corde, same thing as III, same as sul D, until the eleventh bar.
At the 11th bar you are on the G string for two bars.
Next line, 1st pos, same string, shift to 3rd for that G. After hitting the open A you play 1st pos Bb to 2nd pos F and stay in 2nd pos until the last two bars in that line which are played in 1st position.......
Thanks for posting, Fiddlerman.
"3. corde, III, sul D" all references on the sheet music showing it is to being played on the D string, the third string.
Figuring out positions is something I'm still a little soft on, I think I've got it down here:

On the sheet music I see numbers over the tops of some notes. These are fingers to be used, correct? They are not positions to be used?
