I have a book of studies relating to double stops, which I am working through. Most of the studies are by Sitt. The double stops which I have worked through are in first position with preliminary studies in 6ths, 3rds 4ths and octaves, but I am stuck on this bar in C, it is extremely easy looking but I can't work out how it's supposed to be played, is it a harmonic and an open string at the same time, any help would be appreciated20230826_195239.jpgImage Enlarger

@stringy at first i thought, "HEck, this is easy enought" but then upon looking at it another few seconds, it is like a bad puzzle you can not stop thinking about. I am sitting here just staring going over every conceivable method and absolutely nothing. Very interesting

Open E string and 4th finger on A string. No harmonic here. After that, hold the open E while changing the A string note.

@stringy -

Thanks for bringing this topic up!

It's a situation where if I 'heard' this, I wouldn't have any trouble playing it - but seeing it notated sure stopped me in my tracks. (lol)
