OK folkes

I started learning this infernal instrument March the 3rd 2012. Here it is July 1st 2013. The way I figure it, its been about 15 months now and I've loved every moment of it, even though I have less hair than when I started. (the result of tearing it out of my head due to frustration) rofl

So I am asking you guys, "How are things going?" Criticism very welcome and wanted exactly

I've posted two videos. The first is the first one that I ever posted on Nov 26, 2012. By my reckoning that's about 7 months ago. But my 'rithmatic' was never really good. dazed

The second is the same tune recorded tonight on the same fiddle.

I hear myself every day and so, like a frog in hot water, I don't notice the difference so much.

BTW.... The tune is a waltz out of Texas and called Redeemed. I know that it still needs work, Intonation is still somewhat off. And at times I'm a bit 'quick off the mark'. But I'm trying hard. Someone told me recently that an adult can't learn to play the fiddle. What do you reckon?

And

Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of dunno ..... What was I saying???? facepalm

Awesome, John.

I can see you made your violin singing with you now. The tone is much nicer and lot more expressive.

Great job. Keep up the good work, John.

thumbs-up

They were both good - but I definitely heard improvement in the second one.  and I love the melody!

Great idea John,

I prefer the second one but miss the camp fire. ;-)
More expressive and relaxed as well.

Both were very good and enjoyable.

In the second one, your playing looked more confident and sounded smoother.

Nice song and great job!

Oh and, I also liked your South Park shirt.smile
