With help from our very own "MGN", myguitarnow, I started a learn to play blues page that will hopefully develop into a large jamming page with lot's of exercises and playback accompaniments. This is only the beginning dancing

Special thanks to MGN for his fantastic help!!! doublekiss

Added 3 lessons yesterday with the etudes, instructions, and tutorials. To see the sheet-music larger just click on them.

This kind of improv is easier than it sounds. Good luck.cheerleader

I think that he'll be impressed when you turn on MGN's a minor blues shuffle on your stereo and start jamming big time to it. I can sit back with some friends with some beers and just jam for hours. It really is fun.

The fun thing about you MGN, is that you'll be playing to your own accompaniment. It may give you new ideas for future comps. You probably have a ton of musician friends that will be impressed when you bring one of your fiddles to a jam session.

exactly It's also cool to play the blues on an electric violin with effects.

Lovin' this! When my patient hubby asked if I knew any "new music", and I overheard dear BIL ask, "is that all she knows?" I ditched Oh Susanna and Jingle Bells and reached for fiddlermans blues lessons.  Think if I get some wine in me Ill find some rhythm.

ROFL ROFL - man - so true - OK - Picture This.  Come to MY timezone on New Year's Eve - Barry and Mandy lined up an SJ session which, was still in 2016 their time....  but it was already 2am Jan 1st 2017 here.   By the time they finished - it was 3am here.    And it STILL wasnt 2017 over there ! LOL!   But - I couldn't let 'em down so I jumped-on to SJ and I did my best ( OK, I had HAD a few "wee drams" by then, but was still capable of playing just as badly as I usually do.   Cool... )   BUT - sure - I was "winging it" - normally I get the webcam set up and everything - and have a plan, and a set-list - this was "impromptu" and off-the-cuff - so I grabbed the USB stdio mic and relied on the lappy inbuilt cam - that of course meant I had to remain seated whilst playing....     I generally HATE THAT - but I did it - well - cos it was New Years - and we're all "family" so to speak....   Hahahah - I struggled through a few tunes with my darned elbow hitting my knee ( it's a low chair ) - I was even reduced to "half-kneeling" with my right-leg-knee on the floor - didn't help much really...

Eventually - I got fed-up with that and actually stood-up and tried to point the lappy cam towards me - NOT MY BEST EFFORT !!!

I put my relative failure ( well, it wasn't THAT bad ) - yes - down to a mix of un-preparedness and the presence of "more than a certain amount ( but not by not much, truly ) of alcohol" in my blood-stream

Actually - it was a GREAT event - I even stayed up until 5am to catch Barry on guitar and followed by another one of my fav vocalists - It has been a LONG time since I pulled a 24-hour day  - caught 5hrs sleep and was back up and around come 10am New Years Day -

But yes - I look at the alcohol thing like this - "KNOW YOUR LIMITS" - and most assuredly - do not drive if under the influence - absolutely, do not do it....  (Oh - play fiddle if you want to - but I probably advise against that as well)

  Yeah... Be Aware....

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

LOL, I can't pull an all nighter in any case. I like the addition - Playing the fiddle is not advised either. ROFL
