To help in learning to read sheet music what I did was to print out as much music as I could and on the printout mark each note as to string and finger. After doing this awhile you start to know exactly what note is what on the fingerboard.  It also helped taking music that is written in Tab form and putting in music notation. I use

http://www.finalemusic.com/Not.....fault.aspx It's free and really helps you understand music by just using it to transpose tab to notation.

I forgot to mention, with Finale Notepad you can save any piece as a Midi so you can play along. If I remember it isn't totally free. I think after a month you had to buy it but it was, I believe only $5.00.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll be doing this for sure.

Also,

The LOST theme, "Life & Death" would be beautiful to have written out as well.

Edit: This would make a beautiful International Project Piece, and would be simple and safe for beginners.

Sometimes people ask me to do things via email or PM. One member hired me to write a piece and agreed to pay me but never did.

Since I don't know what to do with this sheet music, here it is for all of your enjoyment in case anyone knows of this piece and would also like to learn it.

Jay Chou - Black Sweater for violin exactly

See the video that I listened to in order to write this sheetmusic.

I hate when people do that.  I had that happen to me so many times.  My nephew needed his engine rebuilt. I told them in advance how much it was going to cost for the parts. I got stuck paying for all the parts and the tow bill from when the engine blew and he got a car with a rebuilt engine.

Now the person who was going to pay you for this music will come on here and get it for free.

FM,

Not sure how the copyright would work but I would definitely pay something to have access to the music you are giving out for free.  Having the string and finger numbers made available has been wonderful in the absence of a teacher.  It is much appreciated.

And Kevin, sorry about the engine brother.  I've recently had to put my foot down about therapy work I do.. Just had a client that owed me for four sessions, and had "no idea" that they owed me anything.  Nothing of quality is free, people gotta eat.

I realize that it is worth paying for but the person who ordered it knew what the minimum I would charge would be and I never charged more than that. They were cool with it and I've been waiting for 2 months now and don't feel like worrying about it. I'll just be happy if one of you guys thinks it will be something cool to learn.

I think its a wonderful thing you do, FM... letting us into your world a bit so we can learn a little.. for free. I know a lot of work goes into this, so you have all of my respect.

That being said... The video makes me think this will sound so pretty on the violin. I would love to see/hear one of you play this sometime!

After a lot of persuasion from a few people (especially Osama) I actually wrote out the part to "Until The Last Moment" close to Yanni's interpretation. The best thing you can do with a piece like this is to learn it then play your own interpretation in the end.

Hope you guys enjoy:

Until The Last Moment

I'll try to find the time to do a video...... This took me 3 hours. facepalm The notes are easy but the embellishments are sometimes hard to hear along with the rhythms.

Ya, the problem with a piece like this is that it has no pulse. No real rhythm so I must create one that is close. You can't actually listen to it and hear the beat. It's also the kind of piece that you play freely and add a little here and there.
Hope you guys like it.

Anything you can add to or take away from is my kind of piece, as I'm constantly messing with what's already there. Most excellent.

Completely understand about the not getting paid deal...Our band has two albums that we have been battling a certain record label for our rights back for 6 years now. Our manager died of leukemia (bless his soul) and was dealing with the label.

Here's a couple tunes before the final Master so hopefully the label won't find this and sue me over my own songs...
