Thomas has just finished the first 4 variations and now am working on the others. We are using my grandfathers copies but we would like to find something more to help him learn the fingerings on particular strings. For example, when to switch to the IV string, III string and so on. I have scoured the internet for a chart of some type for the rest of the variation but am coming up empty handed. And we don't want to ask his teacher because she will then decide to add this to his, already, extensive workload. We are just doing this for fun and because he loves all things Paganini(not to mention Vivaldi and now Kriesler). I appreciate it so much and thank you.

@JimandThomas -

Not my area of music... but there is a book - maybe worth looking at.

The Paganini Technique Violin Book - contains all 24 Paganini Caprices in the proper order, with corrected bowing and fingering, by Gregory Shir.

...be nice if a Library carried it. 😄

From memory, there are several versions on imslp, some more legible than others. 24 is less hard than you might think, except for the obviously tough variations.
