Hello,
I'm in Jazz Band at my local school, and I play the violin. I usually play the flute parts because (Surprise!) very few jazz songs actually have violin parts! It's been working out fine, but the only problem is, in a song (Green Onions) there is a part were there are two quarter notes that are supposed to be accented. My teacher asked about what I would usually do for the bowing (he used a fancy term?). He suggested doing something along the lines of almost staccato but in the same bow stroke. Do you have any suggestions? He wasn't taught specifically violin but more brass or woodwind instruments.
