Whoever you get don't get locked into paying for lessons you haven't taken yet.  Around here they want you to buy blocks of lessons which are 8 weeks worth of lessons at $35.00 per half hour lesson so you have to pay $280.00 to start.  If you stop they don't give you back the money for the unused lessons.  If the teacher says they want you to buy a block tell them you would rather pay for each lesson separately until you decide you and your teacher are a good fit.

Start looking at music stores they can usually help you, if they don't already have a teacher in house.

Keep in mind Fiddlerman does Skype Lessons.

I'm a board member of the local musicians union now. Used to be the VP but I don't have enough time to offer.
My point is, my mind works in this way. Usually the better musicians belong to the local union because they can afford to. They work enough on their instruments that it makes sense to belong.

Local 92 is the Buffalo local. Check out the below link for finding a potential teacher. Don't feel like you have to stick to one. Even if you like the first one you try, test a few out to make sure you find the one that works the best for you.

Halfway between Buffalo and Erie?

Hi from J-town, neighbor.

Not that I know any violin/fiddle teachers or etc, but unusual to see someone else from around this particular corner of nowhere.  LOL
