And EJ, don't forget to tell those nurses that you need a spunge bath ;-) Good luck on your recovery. I'm rooting for you!

I love the cane fingerboard. Very resourceful.

Thanks!!  I've already received a few weird looks for it while at the restaurant tonight!  roflol

I thickened up the black tape at the ends so that it feels more like the nut.  It's helping with my thumb placement in relation to the tape!  I'm really liking my "Cane-Fiddle!"  ......at least when I can't have the real thing around! blink

You can affix a yard stick or something at that place to make it flat too.

Hmmm.......I could work a ruler or yard stick onto it!  Maybe I can use something to make it a quick release so that I don't have to keep it on all the time!  cool

I think this should do for my short time in the hospital though.  At the rate I'm going, they might want to keep me in the psych ward for observation......and take away any fiddle related item I may possess!   roflol

I think your tapes are too wide! Go for thin bands instead?

I thought about using thinner ones, but I didn't want to be too precise.  I'm worried that I'll start relying on the tape more then my muscle memory.  The center of the tape is still lined up with the notes on my violin though.

I'm just using the tape as a visual reference point when going through notes.  I did work the black tape up to where it feels like the scroll/nut!  It's a really good backstop for my hand and helps me get my fingers into the proper position rather quickly! cool
