I feel like I'm in a hot air balloon and the balloon is getting close to the ocean. If I don't throw a few things off soon I won't make it. I'm at the place where I need to decide what to keep and what to do away with.
If I'm going to play violin half decently I will need to set aside some of the things I once enjoyed. I simply can't do all of it. I still want to record but instead of spending 2 hours every night at it. It's probably only going to be one night. Projects take longer.
Some of the other instruments I played more often are getting really rusty because I need to focus on the violin. TBH I would gladly trade the violin for electric guitar any day. I just don't play electrics much any more, nor do I have the desire since I began violin.
I can't let piano go or my acoustic guitars. They get played less though. DAW work is now unfortunately relegated to a lesser importance for me. Where I would once get an idea and run to the DAW to record it. Now I'm picking up a violin more often instead.
The violin is a tough task master. At least for the first 5-10 years. I enjoy it though. I'll probably die trying to play lol.
