Greetings,
After much trial and error with various violin shoulder and chin rests, and much pain and frustration, I have come to the happy conclusion that I can play the violin even with all my challenges (e.g. Ulnar nerve damage, limited mobility, and arthritis throughout my left shoulder/arm, etc...). I figured out how to play the violin in a cello type position resting on my left thigh using an Acoustagrip rest strapped to my leg as a brace, as I am unable to brace between my legs as I am an AK Right Leg Amputee. My trial and error, research, and determination has lead me to this point in time. Therefore, the journey begins with the violin, and continues with the cello. I am now loving every minute of it. Thank you all for your kind words, encouragement, support, and advice. It is much appreciated. Thank you Michael and Pierre, the electric cello is very nice, and I play it when not on the acoustic cello I am renting along with acoustic violin (both Franz Hoffmann Prelude) from Shar.
Sincerely,
A.R.Coyne (Anthony)
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
