@Cearbhael do you have the link to that performance, or was it on TV?Bob
@Bob Sorry, but it was on a CD my sister played for me on the way to her house for Thanksgiving (5 day vacation from home) the violinist’s last name is Garrett. Maybe that would help. One CD is classical pieces and the other CD was modern popular pieces. She had it on shuffle, so one minute we were listening to Vivaldi “Summer” then Westside story or Dueling banjo’s (more like banjo dueling violin lol) It was nice though, she generally wants to not hear anything about violin (she says I go on and on) It is good I have this list because most people’s eyes glaze over when I mention violin.
@Fiddlerman Thanks for putting it on the list! I love the duet you do on Somewhere over the Rainbow! Definitely have to learn that song! I love the Hawaiian version on Ukulele too!

@Bob The violinist is David Garrett. He is a German classically trained crossover rock/classical artist. You can google him, he is sure to have YouTube video. He isn’t better than Pierre, but he has made a career, doing records and concerts! What excited me was seeing Steve Vai (a very famous and my favourite rock guitarist) is touring with very talented violinists and possibly a violist. A wonderful foil for his non vocal guitar style. He lets the guitar sing solo or do duets, trios or quartets with the violins. They were using non electrified violins with attached microphones. They held their own with drummers, bassists, etc! Very nice!
PS: The cds she played were Virtuoso, and USA. Virtuoso is the one that had Somewhere and Dueling Banjos.
