Hi everyone,

This is my first post!  I just got my violin today - well, it's a rental, a Johannes Kohr K400, I'm trying it out to see if I can ever play anything that sounds recognizable.  I got home from the violin store about 1:00- my teacher was due to get here at 2:00.  I just wanted to play something, anything, so I printed out Happy Birthday off of this site and started screeching away at it.  Anyway, after my lesson, my husband came home and wanted to hear what I had learned, so I proudly played Mary Had a Little Lamb which we worked on during my lesson, and then asked him, do you recognize that?  And he said, yeah - Happy Birthday!  Ummmm, noooo.  Then he says, well sorry, I must never have heard the song you were playing.  LOL, please tell me I will get better.  Well, then he said he saw the Happy Birthday sheet music sitting on the table, so he was "trying" to hear that and didn't want to hurt my feelings if he didn't.

It will totally get better.  I think it took a couple of months before my playing was recognizable. laugh

Yeah! Lately when i was working on dynamics, my dad runs in my room and says : "AAAAA! Could You please play quiet!!!???" LOL... Thoudh i said: ".Nope." roflroflrofl

Keep at it tinari, after a few weeks my wife can at least tell when I am playing twinkle twinkle now lol!
