So, I am coming up on a year of lessons, and also nearly a year with Snuffles. The past month or so I've felt a bit discouraged. I've been practicing, not huge amounts, but trying to get in a few days a week, but at that rate I haven't really been making much progress.

And while I have really enjoyed the tone Snuffles has under my ear, I haven't really been able to capture it recording yet, though I knew the cause - I had to make a change to my studio.

I just had one of those epiphany moments that changed it though, and the discouragement has fled and I feel super excited now. I am heading to my lesson in a little bit, and starting Suzuki book 3. I started working on the first Gavotte, and something clicked. And for the first time since playing, I actually played (and recorded) something that is actually close to something that I would like to listen to myself, rather than the usual cringing and wishing it would sound better.

Anyway, just so excited and had to share.

As far as the pice and sound, if you care to hear it, here it is:

Gavotte

I definitely need to do something about the chair creaking too, but still just so jazzed up from this one. :)
