Too much rosin will dull your sound (happened to me). How do you know when the bow and hair have enough rosin or too much? I'm pretty sure that I put more rosin than I should of tonight while practicing. Strings got a little sticky plucking my scales AND got some screeching just trying to saw out scales, where they sounded much better yesterday. ? I would think, wipe off my strings and just keep playing the bow until the rosin wares off more. Would love to hear feedback on how to rosin up the bow.

I think an index would be very helpful  ; )

Oops!  I found an index but it is not really very handy for scrolling.

LOL, Help me organize fellows. Smile

I guess the biggest problem with too much rosin is the mess that it makes. Wipe the strings and belly of your fiddle. Whip your bow in the air fast to allow the air to blow off the excess dust. WARNING - CAREFULLY - I WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF ANYONE HITS SOMETHING DOING THIS AND BREAK THEIR BOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprisedSurprised

I am now going to pretend that I'm fencing after I rosin my bow. Violin practice just got epic.

Cello rosin will add serious clout to your fencing matches.

Long as you're hanging around here FiddlerMan, do you have a report for Magic Rosin ?   Did you get the dark also?

I am actually getting used to it.  Good stuff.

My final verdict is that it is good stuff. It compares to my Andrea Rosin which costs over $30. I couldn't see any negatives for the time I tested it.
