In one of Thomases competitions,he has to choose a piece from a contemporary female composer to play and for the life of me, I cannot find a piece anywhere. Can anyone help me with this. It should be about 3-5 minutes long and something that involves 3d position and be written for an advanced player but not a pro. Any help or links to a piece I can download would be so welcome

How recent does "contemporary" mean? It sometimes means living composers, it sometimes means anything written after 1900, and it could mean anything in between. Is there a guideline? Typically if a competition is asking for something that doesn't have immediately obvious options, it would provide some suggestions. You should also ask Thomas's teacher.
If music from more than 50 years ago is OK, then consider this anthology, which you can order from the website:

The Intermediate 1 volume and maybe the first half of the Intermediate 2 volume would be appropriate based on what Thomas has been learning recently.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anything more recent that Thomas would be able to play -- virtually everything I know of by living composers is professional repertoire, though I'm sure easier pieces exist.

@AndrewH His teacher does not know more than I do about the requisite contemporary part. It just simply a contemporary female composer so I am assuming it is someone who is still alive. No suggestions or anything but I will dig deeper to see if anything is suggested on the website. Here is one of the links, just scroll down to strings. This is from 2021 but will be the same this year.

The anthology I linked does include some music by living composers, but the easiest piece in it that's by a living composer is the very last piece in the Intermediate 2 book, which according to the book description requires 6th position.
I think it would be a good idea to seek clarification on "contemporary," because if the entire 20th century is allowed, the vast majority of the pieces in that anthology become options.

So... actually no clarification is needed. The description you linked includes a list of composer classifications:
https://www.mtna.org/MTNA/Enga.....ications/M
The composers listed as "contemporary" include a bunch of composers who were mainly active in the first half of the 20th century -- including Paul Dukas and George Gershwin, who died in the 1930s! Therefore I think anything composed after 1900 is fair game, and that means most of the Violin Music by Women anthology is OK.

Here's a piece that also might work:

If you click on the "arrangements and transcriptions" tab, you can find a version for violin and piano. It's about three and a half minutes long. Doesn't go very high, but definitely requires third position because it contains double-stops that are not playable in first position. Some of the double stops would be difficult at Thomas's current level (especially legato thirds), which is why I still hesitate a little to recommend it.

@AndrewH always gives good advice, so I’m sure you’ll find something from his suggestions.
If for some reason you’re still searching, see if Jennifer Higdon might have a suitable composition. In particular, check into her work for Hilary Hahn’s composition competition.
