Currently working on getting badges to show up horizontally. Should hopefully figure that out within a week. Thanks for your patience.

It's been a while since any thing has been said about the get together at fiddler shop in January, I'm still planning on visiting fiddler shop then, if any others are interested might give Fiddlerman a PM so he will know if any others are interested in showing up for planning purposes.

I am so jealous. I am a huge Fiddlerman fan. Not a stalker...lol
Winter is a tough time with arthritis and money is shorter than an ant's belly for the next little while. At some point I will make it there, chance to have a cup of coffee with one of my heros and actually meet Michael O'Gieblyn, because who doesn't love Spanky?!?!?!
Kinda heart broken I won't get to meet members from this site who blow my mind with the stuff they know, like Mike, Irv, and Bocaholly.
I do hope there will videos.
Speaking of videos, I have looked and looked for a Reggae Violin cover. Something like "Is this Love".........(hint hint)

I don't browse the forums in depth so just found this thread, but unless work intervenes, I'll be there. I'm lucky enough, similar to Bocaholly, to live nearby and am frequently in the 'Shop's neighborhood so can drop in for fiddlin' supplies or whatnot and often catch them eating lunch. I feel kind of bad about my timing.
Mid-December, Mike gave me a tour of their expansion (and took a picture with the Christmas bass) and the nexus of the showroom. Hopefully it's all put together, but given the workload over the holidays, it'll be understandable if not.
The Fiddlershop is about 20-25 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport, 40 or so from the West Palm Beach airport (if those flights are cheaper), but that can be heavily influenced by the traffic in I-95. It's a little hidden, but easy to get to as it's just off a main road next to the interstate.
Bad times make for good stories.

I'm back!
Goodness - what a busy couple of months, heavy workload just ended a few days before Christmas...
Sorry guys I totally messed up the plans. My mum took a bit of a fall, she is OK now but my brother, sister and I are sharing looking after her, I'm flying her back to the UK on Jan 26th....I apologize for messing up any dates....I'll be free after then tho!...so if anyone has any other dates I can make plans too, (but don't let me mess up anything already scheduled)
Just got back into playing today, shuffled off all the grandkids to their respective parents and - Wow, forgot how much I enjoyed my OWN time. Was going to pick up decorations but since hubby went hunting and I have the house pretty much to myself (well just the dog, cat and youngest kid home from college) - out comes the violin - heaven!
PS - just watched the christmas song it was awesome...

Well, it appears me and Toto aren't in Kansas anymore, spent the last two days looking at flights and other accommodations and it appears I'm out of touch with flight prices any more, last time I went to Florida for a quick trip to watch my son play a paintball torment in Orlando my flight was around 150.00 dollars, most flights i saw are several times that. Considering I just bought a new fiddle at my wife's urging, and with all the issues we have been dealing with, with the health of both sets of our parents and a health problem my daughter had just before Christmas. I think it would be wiser for me to take that time i was going to spend in Florida and spend it with my wife for some R&R close to home, that way in case the parents have more issues we can be back quickly if needed, she did not want to travel to Florida and them to have issues and us there. So I apologize to everyone, I had very much wanted to come and meet everyone but I believe I need to bow out and take care of the home front first and look at making a visit to Fiddlershop some time in the future.
