I've searched for Bluegrass Festivals on the West Coast for this Spring/Summer/Fall and have only found a couple that look interesting; Djangofest in San Francisco & Nimblefingers Workshop in BC; but nothing in SoCal.  Does anybody know of any or a site I can check for listings???  Thanks

Lmao!  When isn't it warmer here Terry?!  But you've got some spectacular country/sea side.

While searching, I found several in British Columbia, just too far for me.  And I JUST joined the San Diego Bluegrass Society and on their schedule found a fiddle camp event coming up next week in Julian (that's right Julian, the apple pie capital of the world, lol), so I'm gonna try to make at least part of the three days.

I guess these things are around, you've just got to hunt them out!

hey, just a reminder... to all that post here... if you know of upcoming fiddle events, post the info in our thread on upcoming events... All around the world!

Pick what region they would occur in and give as much info as you can.

Thanks

True, but it gets tiresome not being able to see the countryside coz your squinting to keep the rain out of your eyes.
Much more of this and I'm applying for a green card!

http://www.omegaevents.com/dohenyblues

It's going to be crazy fun this year. People from around the world come here and jam for days...

It's not really about fiddlers but people of all instruments that love to play the blues.

I'll find that thread Dennis and post more info.

Sorry Fred the only thing I have heard about is in Texas and NC. The old time fiddlers convention I believe is going to be here in NC some time this year, check it out if you are interested.devil-violindevil-violinviolin-studentserenadecoffee

Thanks Tony, I'll check out TX; I'm looking for an excuse to visit friends there this summer.  And, Scott, I've lived in the DP area for 30yrs and never knew of the Doheney event; I'm gonna try to make that; albeit more of a blues event and not fiddle, there's a pretty entertaining lineup.... would love to see Tad Benoit play.

There seem to be several events in the San Francisco area, but SoCal seems to be a wasteland when it comes to fiddle events, aside from the Julian Workshop.  When I find details of any of these, I'll post to the "Local Events" thread.
