I sometimes get overwhelmed with the high volume sounds when I'm practicing with my band. Been looking for custom musician hearing protection and I found one made by Big Ear. I also found out MSU marching band use custom earplugs from them. Anyone tried them yet? If not, can you guys recommend something else?

The form fit ones are the best. You usually get a kit sent to you at home and send the mold back to the company and get perfectly fitted silicone plugs with interchangeable filters.

Check out this site. You can choose between doing it yourself with a kit sent to you or visiting an audiologist.

I've never had a problem with foam (I used to use them for sleeping), but some do. My teacher has some fitted ones, but I can't remember if she said they are great or just adequate.
