How do you feel about the mandolin having a slightly bigger scale length than a fiddle?

Would it be better if they were both identical, or do you get used to it quickly?

I've got a very cheap mando, but I'll probably never use it for more than strumming the chords to Wagon Wheel!

Andrew,

Big Muddy mandolin will build you a flat back mandolin with the same scale length as a violin for folks wanting one with the same scale length, so crossing over is a bit easier.
