Let me commend this site to your attention. I have already learned much from his 1st two lessons and there is much to explore here and to learn.

Good looking site there, Ray - lots of info !

One of these days ( if my fiddle, who is a hard task master permits me ) I my get my hands on a mando - I think I would love it !   But, at the same time, there's a horrid little gremlin whispering in my ear - "get a viola, get a viola" - man..... what a life...  LOL

Merry Xmas !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Merry Christmas Bill;

You may consider this another insidious voice suggesting that the Mandola is the viola analogue in the mandolin family wherein you might assuage that  that other sonic leaning and also enter the mando family. Now I am not well versed about the confusion that happens when we cross the pond with terminology. Seems there might be 2 different names in UK and Europe for what we over here call a mandola. I intend to at least build a mandolin, and perhaps depending on outcome a mandola and a mandriols. That last is a 12 string mandolin. Must get crackin in the new year, at 70 years there is much less time for lollyaggin around.
