I'm pretty interested in learning some Nordic-style fiddling, but I don't know where to start.... the Nordic Fiddler's Bloc is my favorite fiddling group, but everything they do is soooooo complicated that I can't follow. Does anyone know of any easy Nordic tunes that I could try?

@Little Prairie Girl -

Sure!

Here's a Fiddlerman tutorial for "Sommarpolska".  If you learn this one, you should be able to pick up "Låt till Far" by ear cause it's similar.

https://fiddlerman.com/tutoria.....rpolska/

https://fiddlerman.com/forum/n...../page-2/  (Post No.30)

First easy ones I learned were -

  1. Boda Valsen (Waltz from Boda - YouTube tutorials for this)
  2. Gaseborg - by ear (Post No.6 same thread as above)
  3. Lagardspolska - by ear (also Post No.6)

I've learned much more since.

Did you check out the Nordic "Archives" thread for sheet music?

I tried to include other tutorials in the threads when I could.

So happy to find someone else interested!

I forgot about that one. Thanks Emily.
