I have learned SO MUCH from Emelie Waldken's YT video tutorials - many scattered throughout the Nordic threads!
Her tutorials were some of the first I used to learn Nordic fiddle music - LOVED they are always more educational than 'just learning a tune'!
Emelie has a new album out, "Genom Natten" (Through The Night) - it's available on Bandcamp (https://emeliewaldken.bandcamp.....nom-natten)!
Fiddle, Nyckelharpa (tuning similar to viola) - and some guest instrumentalists.
I listened to ALL the tracks - and WOW, really nice variety of tunes! LOVE them enough I just might learn to play all of them!
This album is MORE than Nordic... recognize one of 'The Hag' jigs in this little sample?
(*edited)
I keep getting more glimpses/the essence of different Old Hag tunes when listening to the full 9th track ("De Tuffaste & Medebier") - maybe some 'Old Hag in The Kiln', or "Old Hag, You've Killed Me', 'Red-haired Hag', then maybe some 'Hag at the Churn', maybe even some of 'The Hag's Purse'?
...Kevin just made some smart**s remarks about me when he saw what I was listening to. 🤨
Okay, I just can't escape Witches (old Hags) & Halloween! 🤭
