I finally made it to the local Spelmanslag (run by my 3rd cousin) and of the 24 tunes played, I actually knew one of them. Well here goes. The group came out of the starting gate like a purebred racehorse. Me? well, I came stumbling out like a drunken sailor after last call. Time to practice a bit more.

yall sounded great!!.. after a while i think you sorta reach a point where you have a list of tunes that are normally played. Youll start building a repatoire. and its fun to just know them and be able to contribute. also..some nights are just better than others no matter how much you practice.. keep at it!! thanks for sharing!!

@Ripton -
Wow, rare treat! ...and mighty BRAVE! 🤗
Enjoyed listening (and watching) - it's a lovely tune!
Are you all charged up & motivated, now? ...next you know, it'll be TWO tunes!
I always imagine everyone bobbing to the beat. 😄 ...were you the only one standing still?
VERY cool to know there are Swedish Sessions around in the States - I imagine there at least has to be some Finnish ones here in Michigan, but maybe more general Nordic - I haven't checked, yet.
Really appreciate you captured the audio so well - I won't have any trouble learning "Troll in the Linen Machine" by ear, now! 😉
